Russia and China will sign a deal on the price and route of Russian natural gas deliveries within months, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said Thursday, even as talks between top officials from both countries in Moscow appear to have yielded no breakthrough.

Russia, the world's largest energy producer, has for years tried to reach an
agreement on gas supplies to southern neighbor China, but no final deal has
ever been concluded amid disputes over price.
Russia
has
accelerated plans to sell more gas to
Asia
amid
falling demand and regulatory pressure in the European Union,
Russia
's
most lucrative market.
Mr. Dvorkovich said Thursday that a route for deliveries--by pipeline or as
liquefied natural gas--has yet to be agreed.
