Bulgaria plans to build a 400 kV power transmission line between Galabovo, in the southeast of the country, and Nea Santa in Greece, a senior official of Bulgaria's Electricity System Operator (ESO) said.

Bulgaria also plans to build a 400 kV power line between the port city of Burgas and the Turkish town of Verbena, ESO board member Mitiu Christozov told a nuclear energy forum in the Black Sea resort of Riviera. No details about the two projects were immediately available.

In April, Bulgaria's electricity exports slumped to 124 megawatt hours (MWh) from 565 MWh in December. The decline was due to worsening economic conditions in Southeastern Europe, Christozov explained.
