Interfax reported.
Alexei Miller said that 2012 was an uneasy year for the European gas market
although Gazprom's share in supplies to the region began to rise. In 2012,
exports of the world's largest natural-gas producer to Europe and Turkey
reached 151 bcm.
Gazprom is under pressure from shrinking sales in its most lucrative European
market amid an economic slowdown and increasing competition. This year
customers in Europe have demanded price cuts after it was flooded by gas
intended for the U.S. market but not needed because of the rapid rise in shale
gas output there.
