Russia still believes there is room for a diplomatic solution to the dispute with Iran over its nuclear program, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports on its Web site Tuesday, citing Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev Monday said he would back sanctions provided they didn't target civilians.
However, Lavrov, accompanying Medvedev on a trip to Paris, said: "We will concentrate all efforts on finding political and diplomatic solutions. These efforts have not yet been exhausted."
Lavrov said his comments were in line with Medvedev's stance, the report says.
