Eni SpA (E) Chief Executive Paolo Scaroni said Monday he will sign an agreement later this month to work on a project in Iraq with Egypt 's Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.

Scaroni told Dow Jones Newswires he would sign the agreement with Egypt 's energy minister July 21 in Rome .

Italian oil and natural gas giant Eni is the lead company contracted to redevelop Iraq 's large Zubair field near Basra in the southern part of the country.
