There are more electric car
charging docks than petrol stations in Denmark. According to the Danish Energy
Association, there are now 2,030 electric charging stations – two more than the
2,028 petrol stations scattered around the country.
As reported by Business
Insider Nordic, the boost in electric vehicle infrastructure is not enough to
increase the use of these EV vehicles. In fact, the country’s EV-sales
have plummeted after the Danish government decided to cut back subsidies for
electric vehicles.
According to The Copenhagen
Post, only 182 electric cars have been sold in Denmark so far this year, and
just 17 of those sales have been to private consumers. That’s a steep
decline from the 4,605 sold in 2015.
