Greece’s energy map is entering a transitional phase, marked by a gradual focus to renewable sources of energy, the acceleration of natural gas use, the electricity market deregulation and the country’s increasing energy role in the South-eastern Europe., according to an independent think-tank.
Hellastat says that investments in renewable energy projects have exceeded EUR900 million at the end of 2005, growing at around 60% on average the last three years.
Also, revenues from 74 companies out the 230, which took part in the research, have increased their revenues by 36% in the respective period. However, the majority of the companies have registered losses as they are still in the constructions.
