Refiner Hellenic Petroleum and Austria’s OMV are examining the possibility of bidding together for Serbia’s petroleum company NIS, OMV president and CEO Wolfgagng Ruttenstorfer said, according to a Greek daily newspaper.
However, the Serbian government has frozen its privatization process until the end of the month when the country’s national elections and a referendum for a new constitution are scheduled.
Hellenic Petroleum and OMV have cooperated well in many areas in the past, despite their early aborted plan for a strategic alliance.
