TNK-BP has paid over 30 billion rubles (870 million euros) in back taxes for 2002-3, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said.
"Most of this has been paid into the budget of the Tyumen region," a region in Siberia where several oil reserves are located, the minister said, cited by Interfax news agency.
TNK-BP had already received a large tax demand for 2001.
TNK-BP spokesman Alexander Chadrin confirmed to Agence France-Presse, "A financial reserve has been created for this. We paid it quite recently."
"And other (routine) checks are in progress, for 2004-5", Chadrin said. "We don't have the results from those."
