The Electric Power Transmission System Operator (DESMHE) said on Wednesday that it will operate a line carrying electric energy from Turkey of between 120 and 180 megawatts from June 15.
“To make possible this connection, part of the Turkish Power System which includes generating units in Hamitabat PS of a total production capacity of up to 240 MW and local loads in Turkey of about 60 MW are islanded and connected to the GreekPower System in Didymotecho S/S,” DESMHE said in a statement.
Greece faces a power deficit following the closure of the Kozlodui nuclear plants in Bulgaria.
