Endesa Hellas to Build the Third Gas-Fired Power Plant (07/08/2007)

Endesa Hellas, a joint venture between Greece’s Mytilineos Group and Spain’s Endesa said on Monday that it will proceed with the construction of a 400 MW gas-fired power plant. It will be the third electricity production unit by Endesa Hellas. The location of the plant will be decided upon the completion of the feasibility study, while the construction is expected to commence during the first quarter of 2008, the company said. The selection of the EPC contractor will be completed before the end of 2007 and the delivery of the project is scheduled to be effected in the first half of 2010. Endesa Hellas has already commenced the constuction of a 430 MW gas-fired combined-cycle plant in Agios Nikolaos, Viotia. The cost of the project is estimated at 232 million euros. The plant is expected to start operations in June 2009.
