Hellenic Petroleum reported on Wednesday a 4% rise in its first half net profits mainly due to strong refining margins.
Net profits stood at 181 million euros compared with 175 million euros in the corresponding period of 2006.
In contrast, sales fell to 3.8 billion euros versus 4.1 billion euros in 2006. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization were 309 million euros, falling from 330 million euros in the first half of 2006.
The company cited as key drivers for the first half performance the “soaring benchmark refining margins in the second quarter, the higher sales volume, and the FYROM subsdiary OKTA sales which grew by 6%.”
