Italy will present to the European Commission the new 2008-2012 carbon emissions plan at the end of the month, said Corrado Clini, director general at the country's Environment Ministry, on Tuesday.
"We will send it to the Commission by Nov. 30," said Clini on the sidelines of the World Energy Congress in Rome.
He wouldn't comment on the changes made to the plan.
In May, the European Commission reduced Italy's 2008-2012 plan by 6.3% to 195.8 million metric tons annually of allowances from 209 million tons.
The reduction was higher than expected by energy analysts.
