U.K. gas storage developer Star Energy Group PLC has had talks with OAO Gazprom over the Russian company mounting a rival bid to Petronas' takeover offer for Star last week, U.K. newspaper the Mail on Sunday reports.
Star's directors believe that Malaysian state-owned Petronas' 365 pence offer undervalues the company, the paper reports.
Gazprom is also interested in buying land in Dorset which Egdon Resources PLC is planning to turn into a large underground gas storage facility, the paper says.
