Portuguese highway operator Brisa SA and Spanish construction company Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas SA are bidding together for two highway contracts in Russia worth a total of EUR2 billion, Portuguese news agency Lusa reported late Monday, citing sources at Brisa.
The consortium also includes three companies led by Russian gas monopoly OAO Gazprom and FCC's German unit Alpine Mayreder Bau Gmbh.
When the consortium was first announced last month, Brisa said its construction partner would be Portugal's Construtora do Lena and that the Russian partners would have a majority stake in the consortium.
