Paolo Scaroni the chief executive of Eni SpA Thursday said OAO Gazprom still hadn't decided which stakes in the Italian oil company's North Africa assets it will pick as part of an accord with the Russian gas behemoth.

"We have provided Gazprom with a menu of feasible alternatives," Scaroni told a news conference, adding that the list includes assets on which the Italian company has agreement with host countries over their possible resale.

Gazprom has yet to decide which of these possible assets it is interested in, Scaroni said without naming the Eni-owned specific assets offered to the Russian energy behemoth.

Scaroni also said he is due to meet later Thursday Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and discuss the issue.

Eni and the Russian giant signed a strategic alliance a year ago in which the latter extended the massive gas contracts to 2035 in exchange for Eni letting it enter directly Italy's energy market.

The two also agreed to work together in Russian and international upstream projects, among other things.
