French oil company Total may be interested in investing in French
State nuclear engineering firm Areva SA , French daily Le
Figaro reports Monday, citing Chief Executive Christophe de Margerie.
"What interests us is to make investments as an operator and
not making minor financial investments," Areva's CEO said during a
visit to China alongside French President Nicolas Sarkozy, the
newspaper reports.
Currently state agencies own 91% of Areva but Nicolas Sarkozy is considering partly privatizing the company.
Total holds 1.02% of the group.
