TEHRAN (AFP)--Iran requires 82 metric tons of nuclear fuel for the first year of operations at its first nuclear power station in the southern city of Bushehr, the ISNA news agency quoted an official as saying Monday.
TEHRAN (AFP)--Iran requires 82 metric tons of nuclear fuel for the first year of operations at its first nuclear power station in the southern city of Bushehr, the ISNA news agency quoted an official as saying Monday.

"The fuel for the first stage is 82 tons," said the official in response to a question about how much fuel was needed for the power station's first 12 months after it finally comes online.

Russia Monday announced the start of nuclear fuel deliveries for the Bushehr plant, brushing aside U.S. and Israeli accusations that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons.

The delivery of fuel for Bushehr has yet to be confirmed by Tehran
