PARIS (Dow Jones)--EDF Energies Nouvelles (EEN.FR) said Monday it has signed two new contracts for photovoltaic modules to meet its solar energy development needs.
The first contract with Solarfun (SOLF) involves a firm order of 17 MWp and an option for a further 5 MWp of monocrystalline silicon modules. The order was placed jointly with Photon Power Technologies, EDF Energies Nouvelles' solar energy partner in France, which will take around 20% of the order.
The second contract with Yingli Green Energy (YGE), involves a firm order of 7 MWp and an option to order another 6 MWp of polycrystalline silicon modules.
The modules are for delivery in 2008. They will be used to build ground-and building integrated photovoltaic plants expected to be brought into service in 2008 and 2009.
