A range of StatoilHydro's ASA (STO) Norwegian North Sea fields were back in action Monday after partial de-manning and a production outage imposed ahead of stormy weather over the weekend.
Company spokesman Gisle Johansen said: "Everything's back to normal."
Oseberg South was the only field where production stopped briefly, and other affected fields which were partially de-manned as part of established procedures for an interim period to address a shortage of lifeboat capacity were returned to normal conditions.
Waves of up to 14 meters were expected during the storm, increasing the distance a lifeboat falls from the platform topside to the sea. The findings of a comprehensive survey of Norwegian lifeboat safety ascertained in 2007 that when waves reach certain heights, there is increased risk of G-force related injury to passengers on lifeboat deployment.
StatoilHydro has said it's working on a longer-term program to replace or reinforce the affected lifeboats.
