Russian subsoil agency Rosnedra won't withdraw a license to explore the Kovykta gas field from U.K.-Russian OAO TNK-BP's (TNBP.RS) unit Rusia Petroleum, newspaper Vedomosti reported Friday.
It cited Rosnedra head Anatoly Ledovskikh as saying that under the revised agreement, Rusia Petroleum has to produce gas "according to the project's documentation", instead of the initial requirement to produce 9 billion cubic meters of gas.
TNK-BP agreed last summer to sell its 62.8% stake in Rusia Petroleum to Russian gas monopoly OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS), but the companies haven't reached an agreement on the price of the deal.
Viktor Vekselberg, one of TNK-BP owners, earlier said that the company values the stake at $1 billion.
