Abu Dhabi crude oil production was not affected by a minor oil spill that occurred offshore the United Arab Emirates' largest emirate, Abu Dhabi, in the Persian Gulf, two days ago, Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., or Adnoc, said Wednesday.

"The minor leak did not have any impact on oil production and export, and no pollution occurred," Adnoc said in an emailed statement.

The leak occurred at a recently installed single buoy mooring on Feb. 4, six kilometers from Abu Dhabi's Das island, Adnoc added.

Abu Dhabi produces almost all of the crude oil in the U.A.E., at about 2.6 million barrels a day the third largest producer among Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.
