The cost of shipping one ton of oil through the Russia's East Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline will be $38.80, the Vedomosti business daily said Tuesday citing Denis Volkov, the head of the Federal Tariff Agency.
State pipeline monopoly OAO Transneft (TRNFP.RS) will recoup its investment in 22-24 years, the paper said. Costs for the first phase of the ESPO have almost doubled from the original estimate to $12.3 billion
The pipeline, which will deliver oil to China, is scheduled to come online in 2009 after construction delays.
