Enel SpA (ENEL.MI) is studying the possibility of setting up a new company that will hold its renewable energy assets, in a move already made by some of its biggest rivals, Italian daily MF reports Thursday, without citing sources.
Italy's biggest utility by revenue is studying two options, said the newspaper. The first involves placing all its renewable energy assets of about 19,000 megawatts in the company, while the second option would exclude its hydropower operations.
Enel would then investigate selling the company on a stock market listing, although the timing hasn't been decided due to recent declines among stocks.
