Iran plans to pipe natural gas to European Union countries through Croatia, state-run Irna news agency reported late Wednesday, citing Zagreb-based weekly National.
Iranian ambassador to Croatia, Mohammad Hassan Fadaiefard, told National in an interview that the Islamic republic had proposed to build a terminal and a pipeline to transport the gas to Austria and Switzerland, Irna reported.
Under such a deal, Iran would export $25 billion worth of gas to Austria and $30 billion worth of the resource to Switzerland, Irna added.
