An increase in the price of natural gas that is to be approved by the Polish market regulator, or URE, will likely range between 10%-20%, URE Deputy President Marek Woszczyk said Monday.
Polish gas monopoly Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo, or PGNiG (PGN.WA) requested a 28% gas price increase to compensate for rising costs of imported gas.
Woszczyk told TVN CNBC television that URE needed more clarifications from PGNiG before it approves new tariffs, and as result higher prices would be binding later than April 1, as previously expected.
