Franco-Belgian utility Suez (SZE.FR), which plans to merge with Gaz de France (1020848.FR), Wednesday unveiled a shortlist of three companies to bid for its Belgian unit Distrigas (DIST.BT).
The three companies are power giants Electricite de France (1024251.FR) and E.ON (EOA.XE), and Italian oil and gas company Eni SpA (ENI.MI), Suez said in a statement.
Suez said it will decide between the three candidates to buy its majority stake in Belgian gas distributor Distrigas by the end of June 2008.
Suez is selling Distrigas to satisfy European Union antitrust requirements as part of its merger with GdF. Both companies say they plan to complete the merger, in which Suez will sell shares in its environment business, by the end of June 2008.
