French nuclear company Areva (CEI.FR) Wednesday said it has secured a global cooperation agreement with German energy company E.ON (EONGY) for E.ON's nuclear power projects in the U.K.
Under the terms of the agreement, E.ON will use Areva's third generation reactor EPR as its exclusive technology for all its upcoming nuclear reactor projects in the U.K.
E.ON and Areva will also collaborate on developing further a cutting-edge boiling-water reactor.
The two groups also intend to enter into a long-term partnership in service and maintenance for E.ON's existing and new reactors and to collaborate on research and development, Areva said.
