Terna SpA (TRN.MI) Chief Executive Flavio Cattaneo said Wednesday the group is considering the option to buy Enel SpA's (ENEL.MI) power lines, but the two companies are still "distant" over price.
Enel, Italy's biggest utility by revenue, is holding talks only with the country's electricity grid Terna on the sale of its high-tension power lines.
Enel, which is seeking to slash its large debt after taking over Spain's Endesa SA (ELEZF) last year, isn't negotiating with other potentially interested parties as it wants to wait until talks with Terna conclude, Enel's CEO told reporters Monday.
