The Russian government said Monday it has postponed the introduction of new rules regulating electricity capacity market to the first quarter of 2010.

The Russian government said Monday it has postponed the introduction of new rules regulating electricity capacity market to the first quarter of 2010.

Initially, the government planned to define the rules - aimed at ensuring additional stable medium-term revenues to electricity generators for the capacity market - by the end of this year.

The rules have been widely expected by power generation companies.
