London-listed Sibir Energy PLC (SBE.LN), an oil producer focused on Russia, said Thursday its first quarter crude output was up 50% to 5.9 million barrels, or 64,400 barrels a day, up from 43,300 barrels a day in the same period last year.
In the downstream, Sibir Energy refined 9.2 million barrels of crude at its Moscow Refinery in the first quarter, up from 4.6 million barrels in the same period last year.
"The first quarter was a period of record production and trading results for Sibir, driven primarily by production increases at the Salym fields and increased refining volumes at the Moscow Refinery...Sibir also benefited from strong prices and netbacks for its crude production and refined products," said Chief Executive Henry Cameron.
