German utility RWE AG (RWE.XE) wants to significantly expand its water operations, German newspaper Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung reports in a prerelease Friday, citing Heinz-Werner Ufer, chief executive of RWE unit RWE Energy AG.
One of the options would be the formation of a new internationally competitive water company, the newspaper writes. The report adds this would be done together with the cities of Dortmund and Bochum, which own the company Gelsenwasser.
