Eni SpA (E) is ready to
participate in the construction of a highway project in Libya aimed
at settling a compensation dispute between the oil-rich country and
Italy, daily Il Messaggero reports Friday, citing new Foreign
Minister Franco Frattini.
Eni has said it is willing, along
with other companies, to participate in the infrastructural
investment, said Frattini in an interview.
Libya, under its
leader Moammar Gadhafi, seeks compensation for when the North African
country was an Italian colony last century, and appears willing to
accept the construction of a highway along its coast as settlement.
Frattini told the newspaper he will soon visit Libya.
