Russian natural gas giant OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) is still prepared to look at a partnership with ConocoPhilips (COP) and BP PLC (BP) to join a massive gas pipeline project in Alaska, a senior company executive said Tuesday.
"So far we aren't in discussions," Vlada Rusakova, a member of Gazprom's management committee and head of the strategic development department told journalists at a press conference.
But Gazprom is "ready to be partners if the partners have good proposals," she said.
Rusakova also said the company will only develop Yamal II, part of the Yamal peninsula's giant fields, once Europe has more demand for gas.
