OAO Gazprom Neft (SIBN.RS), the listed oil-producing subsidiary of OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS), has proposed to U.S. oil major Chevron (CVX) to jointly develop a field in West Siberia, the Interfax news agency reported Friday, citing the company's Chief Executive Alexander Dyukov.
Gazprom Neft hopes to benefit from Chevron's technology to develop the field, the name of which wasn't reported.
The field won't be developed within the two companies' existing joint venture Chevron Neftegaz, which was established last year, Interfax said.
Gazprom Neft is Russia's third largest oil producer.
