Russia's second-largest oil producer OAO Lukoil (LKOH.RS) has agreed to buy a refinery in Europe, Interfax news agency reported late Monday, citing an unnamed source familiar with the company's plans.
The source didn't name the region, the capacity or the cost of the refinery, while another unnamed source told the agency that the company recently held talks about acquiring refineries in the south of Europe.
Lukoil is due to hold a press conference on its acquisition strategy starting at 0600 GMT Tuesday.
