Russia produced an average of 9.816 million barrels a day of crude oil and condensate in the first half of the year, the news agency Interfax reported Wednesday, citing Ministry of Industry and Energy statistics.
That is down 0.3% from the first six months of 2007 and reflects the negative year-on-year trend seen in the first few months of the year.
Interfax cited data from the TsDU-TEK department of the Industry and Energy Ministry as saying that the country produced 242,396 million metric tons of oil in the first half of the year.
