Russia's natural gas monopoly OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) expects its exports to rise 5%-6% in 2008, a spokesperson for Gazprom Export, the monopoly's export arm, said during a conference call Tuesday without providing an absolute figure, the Prime Tass news agency reports.
The official attributed the increase to rising gas consumption.
The official said Gazprom's gas export price in Europe could exceed the projected $400 per 1,000 cubic meters.
In 2007, Gazprom exported 150.5 billion cubic meters of gas to Central and Western Europe and 54.6 billion cubic meters to the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Baltic States, the company said earlier.
