French state-controlled natural gas operator Gaz de France (1020848.FR) said Thursday it signed a strategic partnership with Bulgaria's Bulgargas over the security of natural gas supply and the development of the gas market in south-east Europe.
In a statement, Gaz de France said its Chairman and Chief Executive Jean-François Cirelli, and Lyubomir Denchev, Chairman and CEO of Bulgargaz Holding, met in Paris yesterday to sign a memorandum of understanding.
The agreement between the two gas companies was signed on the day prior to the official visit to France of the Bulgarian Prime Minister, Sergei Stanishev, the company noted.
Gaz de France is about to finalize its merger with French utility Suez (SZE.FR).
