BUDAPEST (Dow Jones)--Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany Tuesday called for a summit for countries involved in the Nabucco pipeline project and others who could potentially supply gas to Europe through the pipeline, state news agency MTI said.

"Now is the time...to look each other in the eye and take a stand on problems that come up," Gyurcsany said during a visit to Azerbaijan.

The premier said the Nabucco plan has many uncertainties and open questions that have to be addressed.

The Nabucco pipeline will supply gas from around the Caspian Sea to Europe to reduce the area's energy dependence on Russia.

Gyurcsany will also visit Turkmenistan during his trip.
