Russia's Federal Anti-Monopoly Service has said the country's state gas firm OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) should publicly declare spare capacity in its gas pipelines and accept all applications for long-term gas-supply contracts, the Vedomosti daily said Thursday.
Gazprom operates the country's 156,900 kilometer-long gas pipeline network, while independent producers are forced to sell the bulk of their natural gas production at prices dictated by the monopoly and below market price.
Gazprom, however, doesn't agree with the proposal, saying such a step would harm the company commercially, the paper reported.
