Shareholders in British Energy Group PLC (BGY.LN) will meet in Scotland this week with the future of the nuclear generator hanging on a battle of wills between the board and Electricite de France SA (1024251.FR) over the French company's bid for British Energy, U.K. newspaper The Guardian reports Monday.
The paper reported that the nuclear company's directors are understood to have told the electricity generator that the price it has indicated it could be prepared to pay isn't enough. However, the state-owned French utility is said to be determined to maintain what one source described as "price discipline," the paper said.
