MOSCOW (AFP)--Postal links and maritime traffic between Russia and Georgia have been severed amid the two countries' armed conflict, Russian news agencies reported Monday, citing officials.
"Letters and packages to Georgia are not being accepted now" due to aviation links between the two countries being cut off, Yelena Laskina, a spokeswoman for Russia's communications ministry, was quoted as saying by Interfax.
Separately, RIA Novosti quoted the deputy director of Russia's Black Sea port of Sochi as saying that ferries weren't running to Georgia's port of Batumi.
Russia cut air links to Georgia on Saturday.
