National Iranian South Oil Co., or NISOC, has invited companies to bid for the contract to build a liquid gas plant in southern Iran, the oil ministry's official Shana Web site reported Monday.
A tender has been issued for the construction of the Maroun 2300 gas and liquid gas plant plant, Shana cited Mohammad Reza Hassan Bigloo, managing director of NISOC, as saying.
The project aims to supply feedstock to petrochemical complexes located in the south of the country, Bigloo said, Shana reported.
The plant will produce 28,000 barrels a day of liquids heavier than ethane and roughly 207 million cubic feet a day of light gas, according to Shana.
NISOC will need to secure credits worth 1,877 billion Iranian rials ($200 million) and 194 million euros to build the plant, according to Shana.
