Iran is currently producing 4.23 million barrels of oil a day and will raise production to 4.3 million barrels a day by the end of the Iranian year, the Oil Ministry's Shana news agency reported Sunday, citing the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).

The Iranian year ends March 20.

Seifollah Jashnsaz added that this level of oil production is unprecedented since Iran's 1979 Revolution, according to Shana.

The senior oil official said that phases 6, 7 and 10 and phases 9 and 10 of Iran's South Pars natural gas field will come on stream by the end of the (Iranian) year, Shana reported.

Jashnsaz said launching the phases will increase Iran's natural gas production capacity to 120 million cubic meters a day, Shana said.
