Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko called Wednesday on the party of President Viktor Yushchenko to return to the ruling pro-Western coalition hours after it collapsed.
Yushchenko's "Our Ukraine" party quit its coalition with the Tymoshenko Bloc Wednesday in protest of that party's support for new laws curbing the powers of the president.
"I am convinced that the work of the democratic coalition will be renewed," Tymoshenko said in a televised address. "You have 10 days...to return to the coalition."
Yushchenko threatened to dissolve parliament and call early elections if a new coalition is not formed within 30 days.
