French state-controlled power giant Electricite de France (1024251.FR), which plans to take over U.K. nuclear operator British Energy PLC (BGY.LN), would consider partnerships with other companies, as well as Centrica PLC (CNA.LN), for building atomic plants in the U.K., EDF Chief Executive Pierre Gadonneix said Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference, Gadonneix said EDF is "open to other partnerships."
But Italian peer Enel SpA (ENEL.MI), which is partnering EDF in the construction of a reactor at Flamanville, Northern France, is "not concerned" at this stage Gadonneix said, indicating that a U.K. partner would be more likely.
