Russian oil venture TNK-BP Ltd., half-owned by BP PLC (BP.LN), Monday said David Peattie had replaced James Dupree on its board.
TNK-BP said Peattie, a BP vice-president, was recently appointed head of BP's businesses in Russia and Kazakhstan.
He is responsible for BP's interests in TNK-BP as well as its businesses in the Russian Arctic, Sakhalin and Kazakhstan.
Peattie was nominated by BP and takes the place of Dupree who recently moved to new role at the U.K. oil major.
BP recently settled a long-running dispute with its Russian billionaire partners at TNK-BP, which is set to get a new chief executive by January under the deal.
Peattie joined BP in 1979 as a petroleum engineer and has since moved through a series of commercial and leadership roles in Exploration and Production, Chemicals and Investor Relations.
In 2007 he became a member of BP's operating committee for exploration and production and is operational deputy to the E&P CEO Andy Inglis.
