The chief executive of French utility GDF Suez SA (GSZ.FR) said Tuesday it was too early to gauge the potential impact of the financial crisis.
"Nobody can say exactly what the impact of the crisis will be," Gerard Mestrallet said at a press conference to discuss the group's strategy in the Middle East.
Mestrallet welcomed the measures taken by European governments during the weekend to shore up banks.
"We can think that these measures are going to allow" the system to get up and running again, he said. "To what point, I don't know," he added.
Mestrallet also said he doesn't expect the credit crisis to change the financing of the group's projects in the Middle East.
