The Turkish energy minister said Friday two U.S. funds will invest $1 billion in Turkey.
"There will be two packages of $500 million each, initially on renewable energy and energy efficiency," Guler said in response replying to reporters' questions on the sidelines of a World Economic Forum meeting held in Istanbul.
Guler didn't provide further information on the names of the funds but people familiar with the deal say the U.S. Trade and Development Agency and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation are interested in investing in Turkey.
